It shows them in columns.ģ) Clean the drawings of app ids and other things using my or others' cleaners. What it lets you do is add drawings, then "scan properties" to see various things like app id count.

Anyway, this is the process I speak of:ġ) Get all files involved, as you requested from the OP so they need to provide that, and see if the problem replicates.Ģ) Get and use my PurgeIDs free tool posted on these DG's. Obviously troubleshooting is an art, and there are many great artists in this forum, but all have some organized approach and it will vary some depending on the issues.

I have done this for years, it is something I have spend hundreds of hours on since release R14. Graphics Card: NVIDIA Quadro M2000 (most up-to wanted to mention, since you help a lot of people troubleshoot, I would recommend a more structured approach.

Have just had my C: drive changed in my PC and have gone from Windows 7 to Windows 10 so everything is fresh but am still having the same problem which is why I'm edged towards it being a hardware issue if anything? However, it isn't just the block it hangs on, it also happens when trying to dimension between lines, objects etc, doesn't have any effect if I use the button on the ribbon or type the command on the command line, it's always the same outcome with the program hanging. Changing the block is out the question as it is a company wide standard, is there anything I can do to stop AutoCAD from freezing and hanging? It happens in most drawings, doesn't matter if I am in 2018 or 2016 and happens near enough every time I try to move, pan or zoom with a selection made after so much has been added to a drawing.ĭrawings are usually between 2-4Mb so isn't much data within the drawing in a sense, but with regards to the block I mentioned, this data in the block is repeated hundreds/thousands of times dependant on the drawing in question. The block in particular there can be hundreds if thousands on one drawing as it is one we use constantly. We are using blocks with attributes on with different visibility's and the hang happens worse on these blocks. Whenever panning, zooming or trying to move an object in AutoCAD, it tends to hang, freezing for several seconds before it starts to cooperate again.

Purchase DraftSight Professional 2018 for as low as $149 here.First off, this happens with whatever version of AutoCAD I use, I have 20 and the same thing happens in both, so my initial guess is AutoCAD is hammering my video card. As always, check out the DraftSight Help File for more information on the commands mentioned above.

If, at a later stage, you want to edit the data in the Title Block, just double click on it and the Advanced Attribute Edit dialogue box will appear and you can make changes to the text there.Īnd that is it, a simple guide to adding Text Attributes to your Title Block so that all your Project Title Blocks look the same and have the correct data fields. Once completed, your Title Block will be populated with the correct information.

When you do, at the Command Prompt, you will be prompted to enter the Title Block details. the next step is to insert the Title Block into your project drawing. Once you have completed your Title Block, just save it and exit. You can see in my example below, I have populated the Title Block with all the relevant fields my projects require. Keep doing this until you have all your Title Block fields populated. I normally go for Middle Center.Īfter that, just select the Text Height and Rotation for your Title Block Text.Ĭlick on OK and place your text in your Title Block. Next, under Justification, you need to decide how you want your text Justified. Under Text Style, select the style you want your text to be. Next, in Caption, enter the prompt you want to see onscreen. Under Name, enter the title for the attribute. You’ll see he following dialogue Box appear on screen. Once open, enter the command MAKEBLOCKATTRIBUTE at the Command Prompt. The first step is to either create a Title Block or open and existing one. What if your Title Block had all the necessary details pre-defined as attributes and all you had to do was enter some text in a dialogue box? Well, that’s possible in DraftSight 2018! Positioning the text correctly, making sure the same information is on every drawing, making sure it’s all on the correct layer, so many things that you could possibly make an error with. Filling in Title Block details on a drawing can be tiresome and tedious.
